Architect | Designer, Milan, Italy
Adalberto Dal Lago, born in Milan in 1937, holds a Degree in Architecture from the Politecnico in Milan, where he pursued an academic career first as Assistant Professor of Decoration and then as Assistant Professor and Lecturer in Elements of Composition.
He has published many works on architecture, design and decoration and has edited “Rassegna-Modi di abitare oggi” magazine and the “Tecnologia/Design” section of “L’architettura-Cronache e Storia” magazine, published by Bruno Zevi. He has served on the juries of Italian and international competitions and presented papers at a large number of congresses and conferences in Europe; he has also curated many Architecture and Design exhibitions.
He has worked freelance in Italy, Europe, Switzerland, the United States, Russia, Finland and the Philippines since 1963 in the fields of architecture (his many projects of different types include the Italian plants of the Fiat, Alfa, Lancia and Ferrari Group, a holiday resort with town plan in Antigua, the restoration of a national heritage status building at Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence and the Paper Moon restaurants in Milan, New York and Athens), industrial design for clients including Aeroflot, Bticino, Brion Vega Spa, Cathay Pacific, CNH, City of Milan, De Poortere Freres Sa, Disano Illuminazione Spa, Fantoni Arredamenti, Fiat Auto Spa, Fosnova Spa, Gorenje, Indesit Spa, IVI PPG, Marazzi Ceramiche, Misura Emme, Olivetti, Ofita SA.MM, Piaggio Spa, Salvarani Spa, Snia Fibre, Synthesis, Vatican City, and Whirlpool, product design for companies including ICF Spa and La Rinascente Spa, interior design for companies including the American Express Company, Haworth Spa, Magazzini Standa and Magazzini GS, materials technology consulting services for companies including Abet Print Spa, DLW, Forbo_Giubiasco, IVI PPG, Serlachius OY, Snia Fibre Spa and Sommer Allibert, decoration projects for companies including Bassetti Spa, De Poortere Freres Sa and Manifattura Italiana Nonwoven Spa, and project management for the Hotelplan/Athuruga and Valtur/Kihaad resorts.
As an architect, he has designed the exteriors and interiors of buildings of all kinds: private homes, residential and community developments, industrial buildings, research centres, public and private offices, hotels, restaurants and showrooms.
As an industrial designer, Adalberto Dal Lago is the long-established consultant of some of the world’s top companies for home furnishings, textiles, vinyls and ceramics and is in charge of colour trends in a large number of design sectors, and the styling of cars and motorcycles.
His work in graphic design ranges from projects involving single products - logos, packaging and catalogues - to corporate image coordination and promotional and publishing projects for architecture, home furnishing and design firms.
