Entries have opened in the competition for the best projects realised with Italian ceramic tiles
“La Ceramica e il Progetto” (Ceramic Tiles and Architecture) is the Italian ceramics industry architecture competition that selects the best architectural projects realised in Italy and worldwide with Italian tiles in the Residential, Commercial/Hospitality and Public/Urban Furnishing categories.
The competition is open to architectural projects completed between January 2014 and January 2017 and designed by Italian architects in Italy and abroad. The use of Marazzi brand products provides accreditation for the competition, entries for which will remain open until 10 May at www.laceramicaeilprogetto.it. The winner of each category will receive a prize of € 5,000.
Marazzi tiles and the architects who used them have played a leading role in several editions of the “La Ceramica e il Progetto” competition.
In 2016 Villa Antiparos, designed by Peia Associati, won the award for the best Residential project, using Brooklyn concrete-effect porcelain stoneware for the indoor floors and outdoor pavings.
In 2015 the award for the best Commercial project went to the Cantina Vinicola Su’ Entu winery in Sardinia, designed by architects Mario Casciu and Francesca Rango, who chose SistemN and SistemT stoneware for the floors of both the sales areas and the production zones.
In 2014 the project for the Pietre Gemelle Spa, in Alagna Valsesia near Vercelli, by architects Davide Gavinelli and Claudia Colla, won the Honourable Mention in the Hospitality category. Marazzi mosaics were used for the wall coverings of the toilets and the relaxation zones.
In 2012, an award went to the ventilated external wall of Villa Nesi, created by the Archisbang architecture firm using red Marazzi Tecnica SistemA 60x120 crystallised stoneware.
